The neckring is made from a heavy, thick bar of oval cross-section, which is thickest in the middle and tapers towards both ends. The terminals are finished off as flat oval surfaces. The object appears to have had a good surface finish prior to damage and it has been left entirely plain. The original curvature of the ornament has been distorted asymmetrically so that one arm is more extended than the other. An undecorated gold torc, or neckring, made from a thin rod of gold tapering towards either terminal. One terminal is intact and is hooked. Dimensions and metal content: 1. Maximum diameter:155mm; maximum thickness: 3.4mm; thickness of the intact terminal end: 0.5mm; weight: 36.1g. X-ray fluorescence analysis of the torc conducted at the British Museum indicated an approximate gold content of 81 per cent.
