Small fragment of a twisted gold ornament, cut at both ends. Max. surviving length 26.26mm; breadth c 9.78 x 8.71mm; weight 6.34 grams. Fragment of a flange-twisted torcof the Middle Bronze Age, circa 1300-1150 BC. Such fragments are typically cut at the ends. The item thus qualifies as Treasure under the terms of the Treasure Act of 1996.

Coroner on find of potential Treasure: Middle Bronze Age torc fragment (2003 T19) Fragment of one end of a four-flange twisted torc consisting of part of the body and plain terminal; the greater part of the terminal is missing. The break at the terminal end is rough; at the body end the piece appears to have been cut by blow(s) from something like a chisel. Description: A fragment from a cast and then twisted gold bracelet, possibly repurposed into a ring dating to the Middle Bronze Age (c.1300 – 1100 cal BC). The object is made of a gold rod that has been bent into an oval shaped hoop whose two terminals overlap one another. The rod is rectangular in section (c.3.6mm wide and c.3.1mm thick) with slightly accentuated corners created by slightly concave edges.
