An incomplete copper alloy bugle shaped toggle or strap fitting. It is probably from the period Bronze Age to Medieval. The object has an elongated barrel shaped body. There are two projections along its length which are the remains of what was probably a centrally positioned rectangular shank. The body has an expanded centre, each side of which narrows to a waist before expanding into terminals which are ovoidal in cross section. Unusual object that remains unidentified but could perhaps be a toggle for fastening clothing. The toggle is broadly circular in section, cylindrical in plan with tapering ends and a hole possibly for an attachment loop near one terminal. This object is difficult to date but it could be Late Iron Age - Roman 300BC - 410AD or even later. The object shares some similarities with LANCUM-3D1943 The length is 36mm, and the width is 10mm.

Late Bronze Age (1100-1000BC) cast copper alloy horse harness equipment. The fitting is part of a composite strap distributor. The fitting is in the form of a ‘toggle’, which is circular in plan with a central hole and a concave top edge. The main body of the fitting measures 30.29mm wide, 24.66mm long and is 13.03mm thick at the base, decreasing to a thickness of 9.94mm at the top edge. The central hole has a diameter of 5.81mm. ?IA/ ??BA Heavily cast toggle, hour glass in shape. Both ends solid, each divided by an incised line around the circumference. Central section hollow though metal chunky (3-4mm thick). Rounded hole 7x5mm with remains of loop at either end of its length. Worn though in good condition.
