A fragment from a copper-alloy socketed axehead of Bronze Age date. Only the socket end of the axe remains, and it has post-depositional damage. It is broadly trapezoidal in shape, and is hollow. At the socket end the rim in thickened. Along one outer edge is the remains of a longitudinal casting seam.There is a similar example recorded on the PAS database (SF-CA59D7). This socket measures 43.02mm in length, 47.15mm in width, 4.77m in thickness, 47.86g in weight.

A copper alloy late Bronze Age socketed axehead dating from about 1140 BC - 1000 BC. It is a type Fulford socketed axe. The axe is sub-rectangular in plan and wedge-shaped in cross-section. It has a square socket with a moulded triple collar, wider at the top. The sides expand slightly, and then curve at the tips. The faces are smooth and there is no decoration visible on the surfaces. The socket is 59.2mm deep, 34.1 mm wide, and 8.8 mm thick. A fragment of a cast copper alloy socketed axe dating to the late Bronze Age  (1100 BC - 800 BC), comprising a corner of the socket. The profile of the socket appears subrectangular and is surrounded by a thick rim with a moulded collar 9.6mm thick which has a triangular cross section. A side loop, 19mm in length, is present on the remaining portion of the side of the axehead and there is a visible casting seam running along it, from the rim to the break.

The cutting edge is worn and an abraded break reveals a shallow portion of the socket that is c.6mm deep. The axehead fragment is sub-trapezoidal in plan. A fragment of a Late Bronze Age socketed axehead dating to the period. c 1150-800 cal BC. The fragment comprises the socket section of the axehead of which half survives. The lower half and opposing side are lost to semi-worn irregular breaks. There is no evidence of a collar around the rectangular socket rim. A fragment from a cast copper-alloy socketed axe, probably of the South Eastern type, dating to the Late Bronze Age c.1000-800 BC.  The sub-triangular fragment is from the side upper body containing part of the expanded socket rim and the securing loop below and displays casting seams indicating a two piece mould. General thickness varies between 1.9mm and 2.1mm with the socket rim measuring 4.3mm. The surface displays a fairly even green patina. Height 43.1mm, width 22.7mm > 11.3mm and weight 20.7g.
