A fragment from a copper-alloy socketed axehead of Bronze Age date. Only the socket end of the axe remains, and it has post-depositional damage. It is broadly trapezoidal in shape, and is hollow. At the socket end the rim in thickened. Along one outer edge is the remains of a longitudinal casting seam.There is a similar example recorded on the PAS database (SF-CA59D7). This socket measures 43.02mm in length, 47.15mm in width, 4.77m in thickness, 47.86g in weight.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy socketed axe of late Bronze Age date. Only a small fragment of the socket end survives. This is roughly sub-rectangular in plan with breaks around three sides and part of the outer edge of the socket surviving on the fourth edge. At the socket end the exterior has a thickened rim beneath which is a prominent transverse ridge. An incomplete copper-alloy socked axehead of late Bronze Age date. This is a fragment of the mouth of the axehead. Two sections of the body positioned at an abrupt right-angle to one another survive, each with a rough break around its outer edge. There is a raised rim around the outer face of the mouth and a raised parallel ridge behind this. Thin raised lines also run longitudinally along the centre of each outer face. The blade curves gently outwards while its sides curve inwards slightly towards the butt end. The break across the inner end is irregular and well worn. A rectangular indentation in the centre of the break represents all that is left of the inner part of the original socket. The surface of the metal is corroded in places. It is sub-square in plan and wedge shaped in profile. When viewed in plan the sides of the body are fairly straight with little expansion. An incomplete copper-alloy Bronze Age axehead, dating to 1500-1100 BC. It has a sub-rectangular socketed body with a semi-oval loop on the short side. The mouth is largely missing; the only surviving fragment refers to one of the short sides, bearing a raised rim followed by a transverse raised line.
