An incomplete cast copper alloy scabbard chape of Bronze Age date (c.1050-800BC) Description:  The object is broadly rectangular in plan and lozengiform in cross-section. It is hollow with a diagonal break at one end,leaving only parts of two of the four sides, and complete at the other with a knop at the terminal. It has a light to medium green patina.   Measurements: Length 41.3m, Width: 11.6mm, Thickness: 8.8 mm, Weight: 9.06 g Discussion: Compare with WILT-37F8E1.

A cast copper-alloy bag-shaped chape dating to the late Bronze Age. The chape has an oval opening, straight sides and an expanded,  rounded bottom. There is a circular perforation in the centre of one face, The other face is torn and damaged. Copper-alloy 'bag-shaped' scabbard chape, dating to the Late Bronze Age, c. 1000-800BC.  The chape is rounded on the lower edge and flared slightly in thickness.The interior is hollow and upper edge of the front face is damaged. A cast copper-alloy Late Bronze Age 'bag-shaped' dagger scabbard chape associated with the Carp's Tongue complex. On close examination, the chape is formed from a single sheet of copper alloy, beaten and folded over to form the bulbus crescent shape. A section of the back has been lost in antiquity, the front, which remains intact, has three rivet fixing holes. There is the remnant of one hole, to the broken rear of the chape. Late Bronze Age copper alloy tongue-shaped chape, 39mm in length, 16mm wide, 6mm thick with a weight of 8.71g. The object is sub rectangular in form and cross section and represents the lower part of a scabbard chape. It has a rounded , swollen lower edge and its only decoration is a central linear ridge running up each face and terminating in a horizontal projection running along its base. An incomplete copper alloy bag-shaped chape dating to the late Bronze Age (c. 1000-800BC). The chape has an oval opening, concave sides and a rounded base. The opening is chipped along one edge and broken away into the body id the chape on the opposing side. The surface is corroded, with a double-ribbed collar running circumferentially just below the opening, and possible inscised circular decoration on the more degraded face of the object. Treasure case 2018 T796. Description: Two fragments of a cast copper alloy chape or scabbard end, dating to late bronze age or, early Iron age c. 1150 - 800 BC. The two remnants are of a short bronze sheath/chape with an approximate total remaining length of 14cm, complete examples are usually 20 to 30 cm long.
