A retouched flint flake of unknown date, but probably dating between the Neolithic and Middle Bronze Age periods, c. 4000-1000 BC. It is a tertiary flake of mid-grey translucent flint, with three edges. Length 23.13mm, width 23.75mm, thickness 4.24mm, weight 2.58g. The retouch varies; on the ventral face the retouch can be seen on two edges, it is long, stepped and semi-abrupt. On the dorsal face the same edges exhibit long, scaled, semi-abrupt retouch. The third edge on the dorsal face has short, sub-parallel, abrupt retouch.

A flint flake, possibly a utilised flake, or retouched flake possibly of late Neolithic to Bronze Age date, 3300 BC - 600 BC. It is formed on a secondary flake of dark grey flint, and is oval, wider than it is long. There is cortex on the distal right side of the dorsal face. There are a few previous removal scars and possible platform preparation on the dorsal face, but the flake otherwise appears to be as struck. The curved distal end may have been utilised as a knife or cutting tool. There is possible exceedingly fine retouch, but this is so slight that it is pro…

A flint retouched flake of uncertain date, probably late Bronze Age to early Iron Age 1000 BC - AD 0. It is formed on a tertiary flake of partially patinated tan flint which is perhaps a natural flake since it does not have an obvious bulb of percussion or striking platform. The flake is ovoid, narrower at one end. Treating the narrower end as the distal end, there is an area of short, sub-parallel, abrupt retouch at the distal end of the right side. The flake is 34.7mm long, 25mm wide and 7.3mm thick. 7.7g.

A worked flint, a retouched flake of possible Bronze Age date, about 2200 BC - 1000 BC. It is formed on a secondary flake of grey flint, which is well patinated, with cortex over most of the dorsal face. Several removal scars are well patinated. There are sporadic removals from the right side and the distal end which interrupt the patina. A small area at the distal left side is retouched with short, abrupt, sub-parallel removals forming a concave notch. It is 62.9mm long, 31.5mm wide and 9.4mm thick. It weighs 21.41g.

A flint retouched flake of probable Bronze Age or Iron Age date, 2200 BC - 1 BC. It is a sub-trapezoid secondary flake with the striking platform missing, and cortex on the dorsal face. Previous removal scars are patinated. The oblique distal end has abrupt, short, scaled retouch and there is similar retouch on the right side. The retouch interrupts the patination. It is 63.5mm long, 31.5mm wide and 7.1mm thick. It weighs 15.22g.

Late Neolithic to Mid Bronze Age flint scraper on debitage. The pink grey tertiary flake has been retouched (short, scaled, abrupt to semi-abrupt) into an end scraper at the distal end. There is also retouch (short, scaled, abrupt) that forms a notch on the distal half of one of the mesal edges. The other edges have been blunted with crushing and retouch, but probably to make the tool more comfortable to hold than for any utilitarian purpose. Dates from c2700 to c1000 BC. The length is 57mm, width 32mm, thickness 15mm, and the weight is 21.4g.

Neolithic to Iron Age, c. 4000-600BC, retouched flint flake, opaque, mottled white and pale grey tertiary flint, retouch, short, scaled, semi abrupt along one side. Length 32.5mm, Width 18.6mm, Thickness 6.0mm, Mass 3.60g. Other than the retouch the flint shows no other signs of working suggesting that it represents the opportunistic use of a natural flint characteristic of later Prehistory.

A Retouched flint flake of uncertain probable prehistoric date, on the balance of probability possibly Late Neolithic to Bronze Age, c. 3300-800 BC. A secondary flake of mottled pale grey flint with a small area of cortex surviving on the left edge of the dorsal face, covering c. 10%. At the proximal end the strking platform has been worked away by semi-abrupt, irregular and relatively long retouch, struck from the ventral face. A tertiary flake of opaque, slightly mottled, grey-brown flint, with the proximal end worked away, but with relatively diffuse conchoidal ripples present on the ventral face. Two prominent negative removal scars are present on the dorsal face, one narrow and blade-like, the other much broader, probably struck from two separate platforms, one at c. 30 degrees to the other. A retouched tertiary flake of mottled grey flint, probably dating to the later Bronze Age, c. 1600-800 BC. The flake is sub-triangular in plan, missing its striking platform, but with the suggestion of a large bulb of percussion. Three irregular, flake-like removal scars survive on the dorsal face, all struck from roughly the same direction and with one removal being significantly hinged. At the left edge of the proximal end of the ventral face there is short, low angle, stepped retouch, with short, semi-abrupt, scalar retouch at the right edge of the distal end of the same face. The striking platform is no longer present, although there is the suggestion of a large bulb of percussion. Sub-parallel removal scars are present on the dorsal face, struck from the same direction as the overall removal. In addition, struck from around 45 degrees to the others and cutting through the cortex, are three, small, parallel low angle removal scars, with this edge shows signs of…

An incomplete retouched Prehistoric flint flake, tentatively dated to the Neolothic-Bronze Age (see also: DEV-ED0824 and DEV-66439A, part of the same scatter), c. 3000-800 BC. Secondary flake; probably incomplete, with the left mesal edge lost to a natural break. Of a blue-grey pebble flint with cortex surviving on the proximal end, through which it was presumably struck, although the bulb of percussion has not survived; irregular damage to the proximal end truncated by the natural break probably relates to the point of percussion. A Late Neolithic to Bronze Age retouched flint flake, probably dating to c. 2400-800 BC. A secondary flake of opaque dark grey flint with paler inclusions, with a small amount (c. 5%) of cortex surviving at the proximal end. The flake appears to have been struck directly from cortex and may be a rejuvination flake, it ha been worked unifacially. A knapped flint retouched flake, possibly a side and end scraper of probable Bronze Age date (c. 2350-800 BC). The piece is struck off a secondary flake with 10% of the cortex remaining on the dorsal face. The piece is broadly triangular in shape, narrowing along its length to a rounded apex. The dorsal surface exhibits three narrow negative flake scars from previous removals. The ventral face has lost it's bulb of percussion to damage but has weakly defined widely spaced conchoidal ripple marks. There is scalar to sub-parallel, semi abrupt short retouch running aroudn the corner of…
