A cast copper alloy ingot or 'cake' probably dating from the Bronze Age period. The object is sub-oval in plan and sub-rectangular in cross-section. One surface of the object is flat and smooth although pitted. The other faces of the object are irregular in form and with larger pits. The molten copper alloy would have been poured into a mould, and allowed to cool until it was solid. The undulating lower surface represents the formation of air pockets.
