Flint pebble graver, hook in plan, curvilinear triangle in profile and section. Bulb on the ventral face, with retouch on the right edge. A layer of grey cortex is present across the distal end one third of the dorsal face from the left edge to the retouched right edge. The flint is very dark grey colour.
Butler (2005) illustrates a similar example on page 184, Fig. 75, No.8, which is dated to the Bronze Age.

A triangular section piece of dark grey and mid grey pebble flint. It is a cortical flake with the proportions of a small orange fruit segment. The inner ridge is deliberately battered and must have been for a purpose.Perhaps it has been blunted as a comfortable hold so that the distal tip can be used as a graver or point.The distal tip is slightly damaged but it is hard to assess as it is in the region of cortical fractures.Butler(2005) illustrates a selection of Later Bronze Age piercers on page 186, fig76, 1-5 and on the same figure; fabricators which are of similar form to this pi…
