An incomplete late Bronze Age copper-alloy gouge, dating to c. 1000 - 800. It is sub-rectangular in plan, circular in cross section. It tapers in width and thickness from its socket to a rounded cutting/gouging edge which is concave on one of its surfaces. It is broken at the socket end, and any possible collar is now missing. A Bronze Age copper alloy gouge dating to 1500-800 BC, Middle to Late Bronze Age. The chisel is sub rectangular in plan, tapering slightly into the cutting edge and is circular in cross section, becoming crescentic towards the cutting edge. The opposite end is socketed with a circular mouth and an expanded collar on the outside. A prominent longitudinal casting seam is extant on either lateral edge. Copper Alloy Late Bronze Age socketed gouge. The gouge has a circular mouth (17mm outside diameter) and single raised flanged collar at the opening. In plan it tapers over the majority of its 84.5mm length but flares out in the final 15mm to form a C-shaped cross-section cutting edge. The cutting edge extends back in a V-shaped flute to restore the full circular section around 12mm short of the mouth of the gouge. A Late Bronze Age 1250 BC - 750 BC copper-alloy socketed gouge. This gouge is sub-rectangular in cross-section at the top and 'C'-shaped in cross-section at the bottom. It tapers slightly from the top towards the bottom. The top of the socket has a thickened mouth collar which has a decorative bead beneath it. Two vertical casting seams are present. A fragment of a Late Bronze Age copper-alloy socketed gouge (1150 BC-800 BC). The socket is missing due to a break. The blade is C-shaped in cross-section throughout its length and is semi-circular in cross-section at the break. In plan, each side tapers to a curved cutting edge. At the top, the base of the socket can be seen. This is sub-circular in plan with a maximum diameter of 4.9mm and a maximum depth of 3.5mm. This gouge is corroded to mid-green and is pitted overall. An incomplete cast copper alloy gouge dating to the late Bronze Age. The gouge (used as a wood-working tool) is sub-rectangular in plan. The socketed end which is incomplete is oval in cross-section while the incomplete cutting edge is 'C'-shaped in cross-section with an elongated triangular or 'V' shaped groove leading back from it on the upper surface of the gouge. Linear striations are visible on the gouge furrow. A casting flash is visible down each side of the object. The object has a dark brown patina. A fragment of a cast copper alloy socketed gouge of Late Bronze Age date (c. 1150 BC-c. 800 BC). The fragment is the lower part and includes a small portion of the socket at the top and the cutting edge at the bottom. The break at the top is old and abraded. The object is mainly corroded and in poor condition. However where a patina has survived, it is matt mid-brown colour. 50.2 x 14.9 x 11.7mm. Weight: 27.56g.

An incomplete cast copper alloy socketed gouge of Late Bronze Age date (c. 1150 BC – c. 800 BC). Length: 76.2mm; width: 17.0mm and 13,4mm thick. Weight: 38.51g. The gouge is sub-rectangular in plan. It originally had a circular mouth with a diameter of 17.0mm. However, although the diameter can be measured accurately, the mouth is now damaged and incomplete. This damage may be old. From the plain mouth, the body of the gouge tapers slightly from the mouth towards the cutting edge to a minimum width of 13.2mm. It then flares so that the width of the cutting edge is 14.4mm.
