Incomplete copper-alloy dirk or rapier of Middle Bronze Age date. The blade has a pronounced mid rib, being a flattened lozengeiform in section and with bevelled edges to the blade. This bevelling starts c.4mm in from the edges. The tip of the blade has been broken and lost in antiquity. The blade is bent twice along its length, first at approximately 80mm in from the hilt end and then again at roughly 140mm along the object length. An incomplete cast copper alloy dirk, dating to the Middle Bronze Age, between 1500 – 1150 BC. The artefact is sub-leaf shaped in plan and lozenge shape in cross-section. The object consists of part of the blade and the tang both of which have broken before they terminate. One half of a rivet hole can be seen at the end of the tang. The tang is rectangular in cross-section and flat. Three faint raised ribs can be seen on the blade.
