CORONER'S REPORT Circumstances of find The top of one urn was uncovered while digging footings for a garden feature. Reported to Manor House Museum, Ilkley and referred to an archaeological unit (Archaeological Services, West Yorkshire Archaeology Service), The remainder of the material was excavated under controlled conditions. Description of objects Three collared ceramic urns found in a single pit. In addition to cremated human remains, the largest contained a stone battle axe or mace head, a bone pin, a bone "belt fastener" and two pieces of copper alloy. The …
