A fragment of a copper alloy blade, probably from a sword dating to the late Bronze Age period, c. AD 1000-800 BC.
The fragment is from the blade section of the sword and is sub-rectangular in profile and lenticular in section. There is a broad, convex-surfaced mid-rib, flanked by a pair of vertical grooves on both faces. The fragment narrows slightly in width and thickness from one transverse break to the other. Both breaks are worn preventing a judgement on whether the breaks are deliberate or not. The surface of the fragment …

A fragment of a blade – possibly a rapier dating to the mid to late bronze age (c.BC 1500-700). The blade is sub-rectangular in plan and lozenge shaped in section. The blade is narrow when viewed in plan and the edges are slightly concave, in section it shows both faces are convex and narrow at the edges to make the sharp edge of the blade. The object has a light green patina.
Dimensions: Length 20.5mm, Width 27.7mm, Thickness 4.8mm, Weight 13.04g.

A fragment of Late Bronze Age cast copper alloy blade, possibly of Ewart Park type, dating from c. 1000 to 800 BC.
The blade fragment has a surviving length of 64.39mm, with a surviving width of 33.23mm across the top break, and 26.18mm across the lower break. It is broadly trapezoid in plan and is lenticular in cross-section. On one blade face there is evidence of a midrib approximately 12.0mm wide. The blade edges are heavily eroded leaving no original surface.
The break surface at the wider end of the fragment is worn with green corrosion, suggestive of the blade being possibly b…

The fragment begins at a worn transverse break where it is 12mm wide and 3.8mm thick. From this point it narrows in smooth convex curves to a dull rounded point. The blade edge is chipped frequently along its length. The blade has a sub-oval cross section with slightly crinoline surfaces. The fragment is a medium green colour,

A copper alloy fragment from the central part of the blade of a small rapier or dirk of Middle Bronze Age date c. 1500 – 1100BC. The fragment is 30.6mm in length and 23.3mm in width, with lenticular cross section and a rounded rib, 4mm thick, at the centre to give strength to the blade. This rib tapers in thickness noticeably down the length suggesting the fragment is from one of the ends of the blade. The cutting edges have been lost to post depositional abrasion; the remaining surface has an even green patina.

A fragment of a possibly Middle Bronze Age copper alloy blade, perhaps a rapier dating to c. 1400-1100 BC. Only a very small part survives, a sub rectangular piece with early breaks at both ends. It both tapers and narrows along its length. It has a mid green patina. A small triangular section of the outer surface is missing on one side, but this is probably damage or decay, not decoration.

A complete small copper alloy blade of unknown date. Possibly Bronze Age-Roman. This object is a curving triangle-shape with the curved section being wider and smooth. The blade is flat on both sides, with two sharpened edges that meet at a 90 degree angle. Both sides of this blade are sharpened. It could be an object for fine leather-working, or possibly a razor blade. The blade could have been hand-held, or hafted into a handle. There are no rivets or evidence of attachment.

A possible fragment of a cast copper alloy Bronze Age blade. The fragment consists of a short tapering full-width segment, broken transversely at either end. There is no mid-rib and its small size is more suggestive of a smaller weapon such as a dagger, but this does rather depend on how far down the blade the section belongs. Other than its classic lenticular cross-section, and patina commensurate with the possible age, it lacks all of its diagnostic features; consequently, the classification cannot be further confirmed or refined.
