An incomplete and worn copper-alloy blade of Bronze Age date, perhaps from a knife, rapier or similar item. The fragment is triangular in form, tapering towards a tip but terminating in old breaks at both ends. It is pointed oval in section and with a slightly flattened mid rib. Both surfaces have extensive corrosion and post-depositional damage resulting in areas of the cutting edge now missing due to old breaks. It measures 64.54mm in length, 15.98mm in width, 4.71mm in thickness and 17.17g in weight. This object is of probable Bronze Age date, c.2550-800 BC.

An incomplete copper-alloy object, possibly the tip of a blade of Bronze Age date. The fragment is triangular in form, tapering to a worn and rounded tip. It is pointed oval in cross section with slightly flattened mid rib. The entire object has very worn surfaces, some pitting and copper-alloy corrosion. It measures 25.50mm in length, 16.42mm in width, 1.90mm in thickness and 2.69g in weight. The precise form and function of this object remains uncertain. It is likely to be the tip from a blade or similar item, perhaps dating as early as the Bronze Age although due to its preservatio…

A copper-alloy probable blade fragment. All edges are incomplete due to wear and old breaks, the cross-section is triangular with one thinner edge and one thicker rounded edge. The fragment is rectangular in shape 35.33mm in length, 18.73mm in width and 3.14mm in thickness. Dark green patina patches of active corrosion. Colin Pendleton has examined this fragment and suspects that it could be from the end of a single edged knife with a slightly curved back of either Late Bronze Age 1(circa 1300-1100 BC) or LBA 3 (c1000-800 BC) date (after O'Connor 1980). Or, its just possible fr…

A copper-alloy blade fragment, probably dating to the Late Bronze Age. It is possibly from a sword but there is no central thickening or mid-rib, and it is very thin. All the surfaces are lost to pale/mid green invasive corrosion, with additional recent surface grazes, probably from the plough. The side view shows some bending near the break, possibly supporting the deliberate fragmentation as found on sword fragments from Late Bronze Age 'founders' hoards. It is 31mm in length, 34mm wide and 4mm thick, weighing 20g.

A bronze fragment from near the tip of a blade, of a broad flat type with slightly concave edge bevels. It has a deep brown patina on the majority of one face and the same patina in small patches on the other face. It is also severly affected by invasive corrosion which has resulted in large pock marks, loss of surface and loss of edges. This blade fragment could be from a sword, knife, rapier, dirk, dagger or possibly a sickle; too little survives to be sure.
