A fragment of a blade – possibly a rapier dating to the mid to late bronze age (c.BC 1500-700). The blade is sub-rectangular in plan and lozenge shaped in section. The blade is narrow when viewed in plan and the edges are slightly concave, in section it shows both faces are convex and narrow at the edges to make the sharp edge of the blade. The object has a light green patina. Dimensions: Length 20.5mm, Width 27.7mm, Thickness 4.8mm, Weight 13.04g. A middle to late Bronze Age copper alloy blade fragment dating c.1600-800BC. The cast blade fragment is rectangular in plan with a lenticular cross-section and worn breaks. Both cutting edges are worn and abraded, and the blade has a raised rib in the centre of each face. The blade tapers in width from 24.94mm to 23.61mm. An incomplete lithic flake possibly utilised as a blade of late Bronze Age to Iron Age in date, c.1200BC - 1BC Description: The flake is snapped across its length and is formed from a long tertiary flake. The remaining fragment is roughly triangular plan, with some haphazard short scaled and low angled. the flint is off white mottled through to grey colour. Measurements: 41.6mm long, 32mm wide, 5.7mm thick and 6.53g in weight.

A fragment of a Bronze Age cast copper-alloy knife blade (c. 1600 BC-c. 801 BC). The fragment consists of a section of blade close to the tip of a blade, with old breaks at both ends. it is triangular in plan and lozenge-shaped in cross-section creating a lentoid profile. Both sides are faceted to produce cutting edges. The blade is 25.6mm long, 20.1mm wide, 3.7mm thick and weighs 7.99 grams. Silmiar examples can be seen on the database: DOR-312495 and IOW-257342

Description Copper alloy butt and lower blade fragment of a dirk or rapier that fits with fragments Nos. 2, 3 & 4. The blade has a lenticular cross-section and clear central ridge that slightly expands towards the butt. The edges of the blade are chipped and eroded. The broken end is intentionally bent in one direction. It is not possible to assess the age of the break as it is obscured by a white substance, possibly modern adhesive. The surfaces of the fragment have patches of corrosion but the original patina of the blade is still visible across a considerable area. …

An incomplete Middle Bronze Age copper-alloy (Bronze) Rapier Blade. The blade fragment is rectangular in plan, with parallel long edges, that narrow to terminate in a blunted point. It has a lozenge shaped (lentoid) cross section with a raised central rib that tapers slightly in width and terminates at the tip of the blade. A cast fragment of middle Bronze Age copper-alloy blade, dating to c 1500 - 1200 BC. Description: The fragment is oval in shape and heavily worn. It is roughly a flattened lozengiform in cross section. There are traces of a central midrib extending to the tip on both faces. It is possibly from a rapier or sword, but the wear and pitting makes exact ID uncertain. It has a fairly even light green patination.
