Cast copper alloy strap slide or mount of uncertain date. It is rectangular in plan with a slightly domed surface. The reverse is hollow and has the remains of two integrally cast lugs with oval cross sections, which may have joined to form a strap bar. The upper surface has cast decoration in the form of four depressed circles arranged in a lozenge, and each circle has between six and eight lines lines radiating outward. There are smaller circular depressions on the corners and at the mid point of each edge. On the two longer edges, the areas between the smaller dots have a double 'V' design - making four in total.
It is 34.90mm long, 19.89mm wide, 6.36mm thick increasing to a maximum of 9.94mm at the broken lugs. The lugs are 5.08mm wide, 3.39mm thick. The artefact weighs 17.29 grams.

A cast copper-alloy belt or strap fitting of possible Late Roman to Early Anglo-Saxon date. It is formed from a single, thick rectangular sheet of copper alloy with rounded ends that is folded so that the ends meet at the attachment end of the object. The two ends are held together by a large cylindrical copper-alloy rivet that has flattened circular heads. This produces a curved, almost U-shaped profile with an oval shaped aperture through which a strap or belt fitting may have passed. On the exterior surface of the curved face there is incised decoration formed from double grooves to either side that extend approximately one third of the way down each side of the object. It measures 19.75mm in length, 12.96mm in width, 1.28mm in thickness (7.65mm in maximum thickness at folded end), and weighs 5.33g.
This is a strap or belt fitting of uncertain function. Similar examples are noted on the PAS database (for example NARC-6C8132 and in terms of decoration NMS-07E7A1) and are dated to the Roman or Early-Medieval periods. The findspot of the current object combined with its form and decoration might indicate a date range in the later Roman through to early Anglo-Saxon periods, perhaps c.200-720 AD.

A cast copper-alloy strap fitting or buckle plate of Roman or later date. It is formed from a single sheet of copper-alloy that is folded to create an upper and lower plate, the lower plate being narrow and shorter than the upper. The upper plate is rectangular in form with rectangular frame recesses and two central circular rivet holes, one at the frame end and one at the attachment end. The front face of the plate has punched decoration comprising four transverse bands of dots/triangles at the attachment end, similar double punched bands forming borders at top and bottom of the plate, and a further crescentic double band at the attachment end that curves around the rivet hole. It is plausible that the rivet hole at the attachment end served as a pin hole. The back face is rectangular in form and undecorated with a slight constriction where the frame would have passed through the plate. The entire object measures 22.61mm in length, 16.94mm in width, 3.81mm in thickness, and weighs 3.05g.
This is a strap fitting or buckle plate of Roman or later date. The punched decoration differs slightly from Medieval examples and although sharing similarities with Roman buckles the decorationm and form of the plate appears closer to later examples. Until a close parallel is identified it is difficult to state precisely whether this plate is Roman or Medieval in date.

A copper alloy probable fitting resembling a small pulley. The alloy appears to be leaded bronze. The fitting is a circular disc with a central hole. Around part of the rim is a U-shaped channel. The remaining section of the rim (adjacent to the loop) is D sectioned with a small circular aperture at the base. The edges of the rim are scalloped. Around the central hole, on both faces of the disc, is a raised disc with eight regularly spaced grooves. At the top is a loop, possibly broken, which contains corroded iron.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy strap fitting or slide of uncertain date. It is missing most of the upper plate due to old breaks. The surviving area of the plate is flat, asymmetrical in form with a diagonal groove at one end and curved sides that taper towards the centre of the plate before terminating in old breaks. Extending from the outer edge of the plate is an integrally cast loop, which is rectangular in form and section, the centre of the loop opposite the plate now curved in profile, possibly as a result o use-wear or post-depositional damage. The opposite side of the plate and most of the second shoulder/side of the loop is now missing due to old breaks. The entire object has a worn, dark green patina and measures 24.28mm in length, 9.21mm in width, 10.44mm in height, 1.80mm in maximum thickness and 1.59g in weight.
This is an incomplete strap fitting, possible a strap slide or belt loop, of uncertain date. It's form and general appearance may well suggest a date as early as the Roman period, although a later date cannot be ruled out entirely.

A former identification of this object as of probably Roman date was kindly offered by John Creighton, perhaps with deference to the well known and copious Roman assemblages from this site.
John Creighton writes: Possible Belt Slide. The object is a rectangular undecorated piece of openwork; one of the long sides is slightly narrower (3mm) than the other three (4.5mm). Length: 34mm, Width: 21.47mm. Weight: 4.9gms. MF notes prominent file marks which are apparently intended to achieve a decorative effect; these extend to all surfaces both 'front' and 'rear', which are consequently indistinguishable. Suggested date: Roman, 40-200

Copper alloy strap fitting with one side slightly narrower (3mm) than the other three (4.5mm). Length: 34mm, Width: 21.47mm. Weight: 4.9gms. Initially kindly identified as Roman by John Creighton. Helen Geake kindly comments as follows; 'Do you think this might instead be a medieval buckle frame? Filemarks are very common in the medieval period. For comparisons, see BH-5DF483, SF8357, SF7896.'.
This reporter would find it invidious to favour one of these authorities over the other, and so a broader date range is now advanced. Suggested date: Unknown Roman to Medieval, 43-1500.

A probable strap-fitting of probably either Roman or post-medieval date. It consists of a broadly rectangular plate from one end of which emerges a T-shaped bar. The plate slightly and gradually tapers to a terminal at the other end in the form of a fleur-de-lis. The lis has a rounded central lobe with two smaller, connected side lobes below. Below these latter are two thin rounded lobes angled diagonally downwards, their bases delineated by incised lines. On the upper surface of the plate is decorated with an incised line around the other three edges. At each end of the plate is an iron rivet, each corroded to varying extents. One is located within the main lobe of the fleur-de-lis, the other towards wider end of the plate. The central bar extends for c. 9.5mm before the T-shaped terminal (W.: 14.0mm), possibly used for joining to another strap-fitting or for hanging items from a belt.
The strap-fitting in curved shallowly in profile. While similar to post-medieval sword-belt fittings it is much more robust and more similar to Roman harness fittings (cf. Appels & Laycock 2007, 133; fig. AA14.73).
