An incomplete copper alloy transverse wing terret dating to the Iron Age (c.100 cal BC - AD 100). About one third of the ring survives. The surviving fragment is made up of a circular cross sectioned bar bent into a curve that would have originally being circular or D-shaped in Plan. There are two surviving prominent mouldings, one placed just after a break, another at the apex of the surviving curve and traces of a moulding at the second transverse break. The button has a tombac or white metal upper disc (an alloy of mostly copper and zinc with some other elements) giving a silvery appearance and copper alloy lower disc. The design is of initials reading: JB with groups of three pellets around. The metal is cream and grey in colour. An almost complete copper alloy brooch of headstud type. The bow has a moulded stud on the curve at the top. The short wings extend either side of the head, and above these the plate on which the missing spring and pin would have mounted is present, decorated with three horizontal lines. The bow ends with a circular foot. The catch plate is present but incomplete. The cylindrical mount for the spring is still on the reverse but is incomplete.
