A fragment of a copper-alloy medieval to post-medieval cast cooking vessel. The fragment comes from the rim of the vessel, which is sub-triangular in cross-section.  Cooking vessel such as this one were in use for a long period, first becoming common during the 13th and 14th centuries, with little change in form well into the post medieval period (Butler and Green 2003, 27). A complete lead spindle whorl of possible Early-Medieval to medieval date, c.AD 800 - 1100. Walton Rogers Form A2. The spindle whorl is circular in plan and rectangular in cross section, perforation running through it. The upper the upper surface is slightly domed, whereas the lower is flat. The spindle whorl has no decoration. Dimensions: Diameter 28.0mm, Thickness 7.3mm, Weight 27.24g. The metal has a cream patina and is worn. An incomplete cast copper-alloy buckle of post-medieval date (c.AD 1620-1690). The sub-rectangular buckle has an openwork frame and is symmetrical. There is a small sub-triangular projection at each end of the bar as well as of the pin rest. Above the pin rest is an openwork triangular extension of the frame with a rounded knop at its apex flanked by two further smaller knops. The pin is missing. Dimensions: Length 53.8, Width 28.3mm, Thickness 4.4mm, Weight 10.96g. Similar examples can be found in Whitehead’s buckles (2003, p. 80).

An incomplete cast copper-alloy buckle of post-medieval date (c.AD 1500-1650). The sub-rectangular buckle has a sub rectangular interior as there is a sub triangular projection on the pin rest. Half of the frame is missing from the bar and the pin is also missing. The object has a silver patina so likely has a high tin content. Dimensions: Length 20.9, Width 27.0mm, Thickness 2.6mm, Weight 3.53g. Similar examples can be found in Whitehead’s buckles (2003).

A probable lead alloy spindle whorl. It is bi-conical in shape but rounded. It is worn but discernible on both sides is a pattern of lines and dots. It has a grey patina, the central hole is either slightly mis-moulded with an inset line on both sides or alternatively has the remains of a concretion in it. The patination (or lack of) would suggest a later date although the hole diameter might suggest an early medieval date. Dimensions: It is 23mm in diameter, 10mm deep and the central hole is 8mm diameter and it weighs 23.00g
