An incomplete Roman silver denarius of Trajan (AD 98-117) and dating AD 114-117 (Reece Period 8). PM TRP COS VI PP SPQR reverse type depicting Mars walking right with spear and trophy. See RIC Vol.II pg.268 no.337. There is a small triangular chip missing from the outer edge around 7 o'clock on the obverse and there is ferrous material covering part of the coin from around 7 o'clock to around 10 o'clock on the obverse. Diameter: 19.78mm. Thickness: 2.25mm. Weight: 2.96g. Die axis: 7.
