A line forming an exergue is visible upon which only the letter S can be seen. The coin is in a very poor condition with corrosion affecting both faces,obscuring most of the information…

TREASURE CASE : 2017 T406 Description: A silver denarius probably of Trajan (AD 98-117). Uncertain reverse type depicting female figure - possibly Pax torching pile of arms and holding cornucopia. Mint of Rome. Cf. RIC 102 / BMC 400 Roughly one quarter of the coin has been lost due to a worn break within which is the remains of a piercing at 3 o'clock on the obverse. Originally pierced for suspension, the break is possibly due to wear at this stress point during its use as personal adornment. Dimensions: Diameter: 18.3mm; Weight: 1.9g.

The obverse depicts a laureate bust of the emperor, facing right; the reverse shows Aequitas standing, facing left, holding a cornucopia and scales. It is 19.3mm in diameter and 2mm thick.
