A fragment of a medieval to post medieval ceramic ridge tile dating to 1350-1650. The fabric is very coarse, red/pink with a dark grey core in places and with crushed shell and large sooty black inclusions in addition to gravel temper. The underside is convex where it would lie on the ridge itself, with an angular crest (four-sided pyramid) as its apex. A fragment of Medieval partly glazed clay ridge tile, dating to c AD 1200 - 1450. The fabric is very coarse, red/pink with a dark grey core in places and with crushed shell and large sooty black inclusions. The underside is convex where it would lie on the ridge itself, with an angular crest (four-sided pyramid) as its apex. A large fragment of ceramic ridge tile. The fabric is reduced dark grey at the core with oxidised orange to red-brown marginns. It contains abundant sand and occasional ironstone pieces. It is highly fired. The tile is an obtuse V-shape in profile and has a pair of deep indentations on the exterior of the apex. One fragment of a crested Medieval ridge tile. The fragment consists of part of the top and one side. The crest at the point is indented with a concave curved indent rising to a higher ridge at one end of the fragment, the top of which is broken so the hight is unclear. The fabric is pale oprange ont he outside, dark grey within and has abundent poorly sorted medium-fine sand temper and occasional angular limestone or calcite inclusions. There are worn remains of a pale olive glaze. The sherd is abraded and weighs 26.0 grams.

A fragment of ridge tile of late medieval or early post-medieval date. The fabric is sand-tempered with a grey-brown core and red surfaces. The ridge has angled sides with flat surfaces and is shaped into a point (broken at tip). Below the ridge, at the thickest part of the tile are stabbed holes to prevent breakage during firing in the kiln. There are splashes of green glaze of the outside of the tile. Abraded. Weight: 47 g.
