A complete lead-alloy weight dating from the Roman to Post Medieval period (43-1800 AD). In plan the weight is broadly trapezoidal with concave top and bottom to the weight, the sides are incised with two lines following the outer (long) edges, the outer parts obscured, rectangular in section, two holes are included in the cast, probably to facilitate suspension, one at each end. Weight equates to 7 3/4 ounces, probably intended as an 8 oz weight. Cf. WREX-F979D1 for a broadly similar but lighter example.
