A complete Post Medieval copper alloy (tombac) dandy button dating c. AD 1700 - 1800. The button comprises a circular disc with a plain flat front. On the reverse is a raised cone from which projects the wire attachment loop. The button has a glossy green patina.  Diameter: 24.16mm; thickness: 10.61g and weight: 4.81g.  The form is suggestive of an 18th century date (Bailey, Buttons and Fasteners, page 40). Compare: SUSS-6AC30F; WMID-D9A607 and SUSS-08DC83.

Copper alloy button. Discoid plano-convex maritime uniform button of composite construction retaining a drawn wire loop now pressed against the back. The front bears the motif of a crowned anchor and cable flanked by letters R R in a Gothic script. The motif is bordered by a plain inner order and a cabled outer edge. A complete cast copper alloy Medieval annular buckle dating to c.1250-1450. The frame is circular and undecorated, and has a circular cross section. The pin is rounded rectangular in cross section tapering to a point with a closed penannular loop at the other end where it is attached to the frame. There is a worn rectangular raised ridge, or grip on the upper surface of the pin below the loop.There is no pin constriction which suggests it is a buckle, not an annular brooch. An incomplete medieval cast copper alloy single loop buckle with its plate. The frame probably would have had a thickened and decorated front edge, however it has broken across both sides close to the bar which is recessed and offset and retains the plate which is wrapped around it. The plate is undecorated and tapers towards the rear end. A portion of the copper alloy pin is retained on the bar.
