An Early Medieval copper-alloy unidentified object dating to circa AD 500-900. Now heavily worn, its purpose is uncertain. It is broadly rectangular in plan and section. One end has a triangular knop around which is incised scrolling inlaid with gilding. A median lozenge shape recessed cell containing a cross in relief sits between the scrolling. Between the scrolling and other other edge is a rectangular recessed cell containing incised cross-hatching. The cell is gilded. The reverse is heavily worn and no fixing method can be determined with certainty. There does appear to be a …

An incomplete copper-alloy mount of uncertain Roman to medieval date. An elongated sub-rectangular strip of slightly asymeterical shape, no bent into an irregular C-shape. The outer face is undecorated and has a slight lip along one edge. The inner face is decorated with two wide, shallow, parallel, longitudinal grooves running along the centre, each featuring a line of incised ring-and-dot motifs placed alternately with one another. Either end is slightly bevelled and there is no obvious evidence of a break, although it may have been cut down from a larger object. A complete lead token or seal of uncertain medieval to post-medieval date. The object is sub-discoidal in shape. There is a double border around the edge of the outer face and in the centre a raised elaborate long cross, each arm terminating in a cross crosslet, with the letters II and IC to either side of its lower end. The surface of the metal is heavily corroded and damaged in places. The function of the object is unclear although the cross suggests that it may have functioned as a religious seal or token or may just be a weight.

An unidentified object, perhaps a stylus, of uncertain probably medieval to post-medieval date. The object is elongated and tubular with a circular cross-section and tapers to a long point to one end. At the other end there is a long, narrow, central slot projecting towards the interior of the object with a notch removed to one side of its outer end. It is not clear whether this arrangement is damaged, but it appears that the two longer sections to either side of the central slot may have connected originally to form a loop, possibly part of a hinging mechanism. Around 19.5mm behind th…

An incomplete copper-alloy object, probably from pin, of post-medieval date. The object has a bulbous sub-oval head with a pellet projecting from the apex and two from either side. Below this is a tapering shaft, circular in cross-section with four ribs at equal intervals along its length. The surface of the metal has a corroded red-brown patina.
