Lead shot. A cast shot with a low circumferential rib of width 4mm; a mould line appears to run along this rib, slightly off-centre. The object is flattened by impact on one side. The rib appears deliberately formed, and may suggest this shot was for use with the rifled Brunswick musket, or a variant using the same system. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1840-1860 Diameter: 11.7mm, Weight: 7.31gms.

Lead shot. Cast sphere, with opposed sprues, both cut with pincers or pliers. This damage may suggest the making of lead shot in a length, from which individual balls could be clipped. The small calibre indicates a shot for a pistol or fowling piece. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1700-1800. Diameter: 10.2mm, Weight: 6.76gms.

Lead Shot. Castshot with mould line; the lightly facetted appearance may suggest this to be part of a charge of grapeshot. The weight, about one imperial ounce, would qualify this as a musket ball - which is the case with only a minority of such finds. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1600-1800. Diameter: 17.3mm, Weight: 27.7gms.
