Lead probable steelyard weight. Cast circular plano-convex weight with opposed flattened sides and two less prominent angled facets to either side of a central ridge. The ridge has the round-section stub of a loop or its setting; iron staining here may hint at the loss of a steel loop. The metal retains a grey surface tint which points to a relatively recent date. This object type is conventionally assigned to the Roman period, but the surface condition here must rule this out. The object does not appear to respect any recent system of measurement, but the function of a steelyard pois…

Copper alloy purse fitting, as kindly identified by the finder. Cast oval D-section loop with a simple tripartite moulding at its narrower end, from which projects a stalk of length 13mm. Lead ingot. A small pear-shaped plano-convex section cast ingot with the imprints of a sand bed in which it was moulded on its convex lower surface [as made].
