A possible Early Islamic coin of the 8th or 9th century. The inscription is in Arabic, the Quranic shahada or kalima, with the name of Allah/God recognisable on one side, and Muhammad rasul Allah (= Muhammad is the Messenger of God) on the other side. A silver Continental sceat of Early-Medieval date (c. 695-c. 740). This coin is a Series X/British Museum type 31 and is a variation on the examples illustrated by Abramson (2006: 74). The coin is in good condition, with only a small amount of surface wear. It measures 11mm in diameter, 1.9mm thick and weighs 1.03g.

A cast lead token of early-medieval to medieval date. The circular token has an undecorated reverse and a decorated obverse. A single raised pellet is present at the centre of the object around which are four crescent shapes. These are enclosed by a solid circular ring. Surrounding this line of decoration is a series of alternating raised pellets and crescent shapes. A late Saxon copper alloy stirrup strap mount, Williams Class A, Type 11A. The mount is flat, triangular and has a trefoil shaped apex with an incomplete loop on the central leaf. The front of the mount is decorated with a lion shown in profile to the right, with front paw extended out as if slashing something, and head upwards with mouth open. There is a rearward lip at the base, with two incomplete iron rivets through it.

Half of a silver coin dating from the Early Medieval period. It is 20mm long, 10.6mm wide, and 1.15mm thick. It weighs 0.72gm. The coin has pairs of parallel lines at right angles to each other on the obverse, perhaps representing a building, and a cross and pellets on the reverse. With only half the coin to work from, it has not been possible to identify it yet, but it has been suggested that it is probably a Carolingian "Temple" type denier, or possibly an Anglo-Saxon or Anglo-Viking derivative.
