The object is conical shaped, with tapered sides, flaring out to the open edges. The top of the bell is narrowed and slightly rounded. At the apex projects a rounded, rectangular sectioned attachment loop with a circular perforation through the centre.

The mount is cruciform in shape, with an incomplete rectangular attachment lug at the reverse. The front is flat. with lozenge shaped terminals.

A worn and incomplete copper-alloy hexagonal 'norse' clapper bell of Early Medieval date (c.AD 850-1050) .
The sides are divided into six evenly spaced straight faces with shallow U-shaped notches at the base. At the top is a complete integrally cast rectangular suspension loop with a central circular hole. One side of the bell is missing. The clapper is also missing.
It has a light green surface patina. It measures: length 24.9mm, width 20.8mm, thickness of wall 1.6mm. It weighs 5.3 grams.

The central design shows two human heads, potentially a man and women, suggesting it may be a love and loyalty seal from the 14th century (Harvey and McGuiness, 1996, pg90). The inscription is corroded and cannot be read.
