An incomplete cast copper-alloy brooch (disc) of early medieval date (c. AD 410-600).
Description: The brooch is broadly circular in plan and flat in cross-section. It is decorated with five ring-and-dot motifs with the one at the centre having an extra, fainter ring and a larger 'dot'. The reverse of the brooch has the remains of a semi-circular pin lug with traces of iron corrosion from the now missing pin. A fragment from a copper-alloy Trumpet brooch of Roman date, circa AD 75-200.
The brooch fragment consists of only the lower bow, foot and catchplate.
The lower bow has a sub-triangular cross setction and has no decoration present. The foot consists of a rounded knop. At the reverse, the catchplate is solid.
The brooch is dark green in colour and has an even surface patina.
Measurements: length 40.9 mm, width 6.9mm, thickness inc catchplate 11.5mm, weight 4.9 grams

An incomplete cast copper-alloy La Tene III/Nauheim derivative type bow brooch dating to the late Iron Age or early Roman period, 35mm in length, comprising the bow and a stump of the spring, which is 8mm in diameter and made from the same piece of metal as the rest of the brooch. The bow is lozengiform with a flat cross sectional profile and is decorated with a line of punched S-shapes along the centre and linear external borders. The pin and most of the spring is missing as is the foot and catchplate.

An incomplete copper-alloy early medieval (early Anglo-Saxon) Type 2.2.4 of Martin Cruciform brooch type B - AD475-550 (Martin, 2015, pg29, 37, 38 (fig 14) and 128). Only the foot of the brooch survives with an old break across the upper end of the flat panel. Only half the catchplate survives to the reverse of the rectangular flat panel. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman brooch. A round, gilded, brooch with a enamel filled stud fastened in the middle from which raidated a set of five ribs, of which only two remain. The pin and catchplate are missing. There is evidence of red enamel (Mackreth, 2011, pg 162). A similar example can be seen in Mackreth, 2011, pg 110, plate 107, 10947).

An incomplete copper-alloy Roman brooch dating to the 2nd Century. The brooch is D shaped in profile, symmetrical on both axes with upright bead terminal with a ridge across the top. The pin is missing, the but the remains of a catch plate can be seen on the reverse of the terminal. The panel forming the bow is rectangular, with a design divided into three horizontal panels, the outer repeating each other. There is evidence of enamelling and beading, with small cells for enamel. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman Colchester derivative brooch with double pierced lug. Half the spring is missing, the pin and wings are incomplete. The lug becomes a central rib on the upper bow, with moulded grooves on either side. The flat centre rib of the lower bow has lightly incised rocker decoration. The catchplate is folded over and has a groove where the pin would lie when closed (Blagg et al., 2004, pg 94-95, plate 88).

An incomplete copper alloy Headstud Brooch of Roman date (AD 70-160). The object is composed of rectangular wings which are decorated with a vertical groove, the outer edges of the wings are missing due to old, abraded breaks. The reverse of the head retains a rolled cylindrical tube, with a central rectangular slot, through which a partial wire pin projects. A fragment of a cast copper alloy Roman brooch of Colchester derivative Harlow double-lugged type dating to the first century AD. The arms are hemi-cylindrical and enclose the spring, which is held on a copper alloy spindle in a double lugged flange at the centre. The bow is narrow and strongly arched, sub rectangular in cross section and decorated with a groove along the spine. The rest of the bow, the foot and the catchplate are missing.

A fragment of medieval copper alloy annular brooch, probably dating to c. AD 1250-1450. The brooch was originally circular in plan, but now only part of it remains.The brooch frame is decorated with double rows of small punched annulets in between collets. The collets contain the remains of a white paste which would have been used as a fixative for decorative pieces of coloured glass.The pin is missing.

The object is composed of semi-cylindrical wings with outer raised double collared ends with a rear-hook at the top of the head. The spring, pin and axis bar are partially retained within the back of the wings. The bowhead is hump-like in profile. The body tapers to an abraded break resulting in the loss of the foot and catchplate.
