Description: The object is rectangular in plan, the upper surface is flat and smooth with an ovoid dome sitting proud on it. The underside is uneven and less cohesive, looking unworked and unmoulded.
Measurements: Length: 20.96 mm: Width: 15.53 mm; Thickness: 12.75 mm and Weight: 22.33 g.
Discussion: This object is likely casting waste due to one side being refined and the others unshapen. It is not possible to date this, due to the lack of diagnostic features.

A metal object, likely made of tin, of unknown function, likely dating to the late Post-Medieval to Modern era.
Description: The object is a slim, elongated cone terminating at a point. It is hollow as far down as is visible. There is no visible thread within the object. The metal is unidentified but it is silver in colour so possibly tin. The surface is smooth with two incised grooves running around the circumference, one 4.4mm from the tip and the other at 26.11 mm from the tip. The object is sub-rectangular with a D-shaped section, rounded corners and ends. Often referred to as ‘finger’ shaped. The object is fairly regular in form, suggesting it was cast, and no signs of hammering are present.
The metal has a dark green/brown patina and is worn. The object is 54.7mm long, 15.4mm wide, 12.2mm thick and weighs 44.6g.

Five fragments of bloomery slag that appear to have been produced from the tapping process. All display smooth molten ridges and channels on the face characteristic of runs of solidified molten taped slag. Where broken the core is seen to be dense but filled with abundant, small bubbles and cavities.

Description: A silver Roman denarius that has been incorporated into a finger ring as the bezel. The hoop is rectangular in cross-section, flaring at the shoulders with a longitudinal groove along the centre of the outer face of each shoulder. The outer end of each shoulder has been soldered to the reverse of the denarius. The whole object including the coin then appears to have been coated with white metal. A cast rectangular section plate, expanded and slotted at one end to receive an inserted lead spindle engaging a perforated lug projecting from the end of a similar but narrower plate, which is broken close to the meeting of the two components. An incomplete lead or lead alloy convex spindle whorl, of Roman to Post Medieval dating (AD 43 - AD 1650).
The spindle whorl is sub circular in shape, and domed in cross section. The central hole is sub circular in shape and has been cast slightly off central. The internal diameter of the hole measures 6.4 mm wide. Both upper and lower faces bear no trace of decoration.
The whorl has a diameter of 18.9 mm and is 8.2 mm thick. It weighs 14.2 g (0.50 oz).
