An worn copper-alloy or base silver coin, probably an Iron Age unit of uncertain type, dating to the period c.100 BC-AD 43. The coin is slightly dished with the core exposed in places, particularly around the edges. Obverse: A crescent(?), possibly a stylised face with long nose and multiple crescents as hair currls behind, pellets in the field. Reverse: Multiple lines and pellets, perhaps a stylised animal or similar uncertain motif. The precise identification of this coin remains uncertain. A gold Iron Age stater of the Western Region / Dobunni, dating to c. 60 BC - AD 40. Obverse: Tree symbol (with 5 branches on each side ending with pellet) with a pellet or ring at base and tip. Reverse: A six spoked wheel and horse of uncertain form. The reverse has extensive wear, as well as what appears to be deliberate defacing in the form of multiple short linear strokes or scratches/chisel marks that have removed the horse motif and any legend that may originally have existed. Cf. ABC p.103, no. 2003 passim for the type.

Another example has ben discovered in Warwickshire (WAW-6ADF25) this example has pellets around the head of the horse and another rib on the tail.

An incomplete British Iron Age gold quarter stater of Corio, Western series (traditionally ascribed to the Dobunni), struck in about 10 BC - AD 20. During the Roman period, and perhaps earlier, the Dobunni inhabited an area covering the modern county of Gloucestershire and parts of Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire. A Dobunni gold stater of the Western Region, issued by Anted and dating to the period AD 20-43. Obverse has the Dobunnic branched Emblem slightly offset from the centre of a plain field. The Reverse has the Triple-tailed horse right with six-spoked wheel below; ANTED above, dispersed symbols in field spelling RICV. The obverse of the coin is struck off-centre and is on an ovoid flan.
