A brass mechanised and orignally sprung powder measure. This machined composite brass element fixed via a screw thread (now lost) to the mouth of a leather powder horn / flask. By depressing the sprung lever a series of shaped slides move allowing a single measure of black powder to be dispensed into the muzzle of a either a musket or rifle. The form of this measure is unusual and is likely to date from the period 1780-1860, being used as an alternative to paper cartridges. A mid 19th century (1800-1900) Brass police composite button from a uniform jacket. The button is machine pressed with inscription SHROPSHIRE CONSTABULARY on a raised band around a recessed central Crown. Reverse has a machine pressed back -with possible maker PEARSON inscribed. Incomplete copper alloy military badge (shoulder title) of modern date (probably WW1), from the King's Shropshire Light Infantry formed 1881. Moulded "PSHIRE" (originally Shropshire but broken) curved top and bottom, with one loop brazed to reverse. Surface is rough and casting appears regular. Colour is dull brown. The object measures: 23.17 to 32.11mm in length, 10.98mm wide and 1.3mm thick. The objects weighs 2.7 grams.
