Pottery. German Stoneware: a fine hard-fired pale grey fabric with internal and external salt glaze. The exterior bears a fragment of a moulded scene in naturalistic Neo-Classical style featuring two naked figures. The principal subject is a bearded man reclining with his head supported by the hand of his crooked right arm. The upper part of a young woman’s torso is draped across the abdomen of the man with her dishevelled long hair spilling over what may be the representation of his pubic hair. The man’s fingers rest on her back. The figures appear against a stippled …

A sherd of a probably Roman ceramic vessel dating from AD 43 - 410, but a Medieval date cannot be entirely ruled out. It is a wall sherd with no original edges. The fabric is fairly hard and is grey in the core and buff on the surfaces due to differential oxidisation. The breaks are worn, but the texture appears to be irregular to laminated. The fabric is gritty with frequent poorly sorted angular quartz inclusions, and occasional larger red grog pieces. Measurements are; length 51.9mm, width 72.1mm, thickness 48.6mm and weight 53.81g.

AD 1500 - 1800). Interior fabric is hard, pale orange pink with sandy inclusions, outer fabric is reduced pale grey.
