A large flint blade with several dorsal scars showing previous blade removals. There is no convincing retouch on the edges so this was probably not a tool. Mesolithic-early Neolithic (or Bronze Age if a blank for a knife). The object is in good condition, is 65mm long, 29mm wide, 8mm thick and weighs 16.82g.

An incomplete tertiary blade probably dating to the Late Mesolithic (6500-4300 BC). The blade is snapped at the distal end. A striking platform and bulb of percussion is visible on the ventral face. Two previous strikings are visible on the dorsal face creating a triangular cross section. The flint is a mottled yellow-orange colour. Length: 37.25mm, Width: 19.5mm, Thickness: 4.8mm, Weight: 3.60g

An incomplete secondary blade probably dating to the Late Mesolithic (6500-4300 BC). The blade is snapped at the proximal end. There is possible evidence of retouch on both the left and right sides of the ventral face, this could also be due to wear. Three previous strikings are visible on the dorsal face creating a sub-triangular cross section. The flint is a mottled brown colour. Length: 22.0mm, Width: 14.25mm, Thickness: 4.8mm, Weight: 1.53g

A Mesolithic notched blade. The blade is sub-rectangular in shape and measures 25.44 mm long, 12.52 mm wide and 3.83 mm thick. It weighs 1.6 grams. A notch is located on the right lateral edge near to the proximal end of the blade, applied using pressure flaking from the ventral face. A further smaller notch is situated mid way up the left lateral edge, this time applied from the ventral surface. The lack of an obvious bulb of percussion suggests that the blade was snapped, and based on the even patina at the break this probably occurred in prehistory. The flint has a pale cream to gr…

A Mesolithic blade. The blade was probably a waste piece, although there is very possible retouch on the left lateral edge at the distal end. It measures 26.68 mm long, 7.53 mm long, 4.29 mm thick and weighs 0.8 grams. It is sub-triangular in section, with a central ridge which is almost parallel to the lateral edges. It is slightly convexed on the ventral face. The flint has a pale grey patina.

A Mesolithic blade. The blade was probably a waste piece, although there is some slight retouch on the left lateral edge at the proximal end. It measures 53.48 mm long, 17.21 mm wide, 9.62 mm thick and weighs 6 grams. It is sub-triangular in section, with a central ridge which is parallel to the lateral edges. A large amount of cortex remains on the dorsal face, particularly around the central ridge.  The flint is a dark grey colour with cream to white inclusions and a cream coloured cortex.

A broken Mesolithic blade. The remains of the blade measure 20.0 mm long, 11.62 mm wide, 3.14 mm thick and weighs 0.7 grams. It is trapezoidal in section. A different colour in the patina at the break suggests that the break occurred sometime after the original deposition of the flint.

A Mesolithic blade. The blade measures 23.85 mm long, 12.98 mm wide, 3.94 mm thick and weighs 1.3 grams. It is triangular in section. The blade appears to have been snapped at its proximal end, although based on the even patina on the flint this is an ancient break. The left lateral edge is still sharp, whilst the right edge has been blunted using retouch from the dorsal face, presumably to facilitate comfortable handling of the blade. A ridge, parallel to the lateral edges, runs down the centre of the blade. The flint is a pale cream colour.

Three flint blades with small areas of possibly retouch. First blade measures 58.8mm long, 24.3mm wide, 7.1mm thick and it weighs 11.42grams. A thin rectangular blade. It has a clear bulb of percussion and percussion waves on the ventral face and arrises from previous removals on the dorsal face. There is cortex remaining down one edge. In the centre of the opposite edge on the ventral face is a possible area with short scalar retouch. The flint is dark grey with paler mottling. Second blade measures 41.9mm long, 17.3mm wide, 3.5mm thick and it weighs 3.81grams.…

A small flint blade, possibly a fragment of a larger blade. It is perhaps Neolithic in origin, coming as it does, from the Walton Basin in Wales. The bulb of percussion has been removed and there are signs of re-work to the adjacent edges. The dorsal surface has a single ridge/lateral edge which divides into 2 as it extends to the upper edge in the photograph. The ventral surface has percussion ripples along with edge fissures at one end. The material is a pale cream flint with several minute inclusions with a larger pale inclusion that terminates with a dark edge on the dorsal ridg…

A lithic flake/implement of probable Neolithic origin. This artefact has the look of a blade, with the remnants of a diffuse bulb of percussion and the conventional dorsal/ventral surfaces. The dorsal surface has a number of negative scars from earlier removal with fissures and abundant concoidal scarring to both long edges. The long edges are, however, quite steep and there is also retouch on the ventral surface at the distal end. The material is a dark brown/grey flint with numerous inclusions of both darker and lighter material.
