Stone rubber or polisher. A fine-grained Sandstone chunk, possibly half of an originally cylindrical object, with smooth curved sides and flat top with one groove near its edge. The other two adjacent flat sides are both slightly ridged or grooved in the same direction, with about four ridges or grooves passing across that face which preserves these details best. 4 fragments of a puddingstone quern of probable Roman date. Puddingstone is distinctive conglomerate containing rounded red flint pebbles within a siliceous matrix, the main sources of which lie in Hertfordshire. A bifacially worked Neolithic lanceolate point or implement made from a pink-brown coarse-grained quartzite. The tool is 74.3mm in length and oval in shape, with a lenticular cross section. The faceting on both faces is suggestive of hard-hammered working.

A complete knapped stone axehead of late Neolithic date, c. 2700 - 2300 BC.  The axehead is formed of a coarse brown stone. It is sub-ovate in plan; narrower at the butt end with sides which widen to the crescentic cutting edge. The axe has a humped profile and an irregular oval cross section. The surface of one side is pitted. The axehead is 81.2mm long, 44.6mm wide, 22.1mm thick and weighs 92.5g. It is impossible to source axes such as these without a detailed petrological analysis of the rock. This would allow the original source of the rock to be established.

Stone rubber. A water-rolled pebble with abundant black flecks to diameter 3mm, with one flattened sub-triangular surface. The object is of a size to fit snugly in the hand and may have been used for a grinding or polishing task using the flat face. The use of a probable Glacial Erratic for such purposes might be ascribed to Prehistory, or indeed any time up to the Viking Age, when the international supply of stone for specialist purposes was revived. A stone possible gaming piece of possible Roman date, AD 43 - 410. The object is formed from a very smooth circular pebble, identified by the finder as Cornish greenstone. The pebble has two shallowly convex faces and rounded sides. It would have functioned well as a counter or gaming piece. It may have been naturally formed but collected for use as a playing piece. Measurements are; diameter 24.3mm, thickness 7.5mm and weight 6.74g. The stone is dark brown, fine grained and smooth, but with a slightly pitted surface under magnification. Pecked stone ball of a size apt to be fired by the smaller version of the Minion, which was one of the smaller guns mounted on wheeled carriages to support troops in the field. Fine-grained Limestone saddle quern. A neat sub-rectangular block of stepped wedge-shaped profile, worn on its upper surface with a flat base which is indented only at its thicker end. The form is Neolithic, and a saddle quern would be used with a separate cobble grinding stone to grind corn to a coarse flour, and hence marks the advent of arable farming in the area whence it was reported.
