A silver penny of King Coenwulf of Mercia dating to the Early Medieval period (c. AD 796-821) struck by Seberht at Canterbury. The obverse depicts a legend reading COENVVLF REX arranged circumferentially around a central circle and an M (for Mercia) within it.
