A copper alloy mount. It is basically triangular in shape, the narrow end being truncated, while the opposite face and the two sides are fluted. One side shows evidence of a slightly raised border along the edge. The mount has three studs on the rear along the long edge, which are bulbous at the ends, and may have been peened over to fit something. On the other face is a design which seems to have been quite crudely etched into it.
