A complete copper-alloy Early Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) buckle frame. It is D-shaped in plan and cross-section, flat backed with a narrowed bar, and notch for the now missing pin.  Short, plain frames are a feature of buckles of the 7th to 8th centuries (for examples, see MacGregor and Bolick 1993: 191 - 208). An incomplete Medieval copper alloy buckle with plate, dating to c. AD 1250-1650. The inner edge of a cast single looped buckle frame with a narrowed and offset strap bar retained by a sub-triangular metal plate secured by folding around the strap bar. It has a slot at the centre where it folds over the strap bar, which would have once contained the missing pin. It has a green / brown coloured uneven surface patina. An incomplete copper-alloy buckle of medieval date, c.AD 1250 - 1400. Meols Type 10. The buckle is a single looped oval with a narrowed and offset bar and ornate outer edge. Two prominent knops flank two smaller knops with raised collars where they join. The central recesses would have acted as a rest for the pin. The pin no longer remains. The metal has a mid-green patina and is in fair condition. The buckle is 21.5mm long, 24.7mm wide, 3.7mm thick and weighs 2.9g. An incomplete copper-alloy enamelled buckle plate of 12th or 13th century date. The plate is a Limoges product made from copper-alloy of which only a tiny stub survives. An incomplete copper-alloy Medieval buckle. The frame is boradly oval in shape, with an incomplete composite rigid plate and the remains of an iron pin. There is a notch for a missing pin, the frame protrudes on each side at junction of narrowed bar and frame. The frame protrudes at each side and has a pin notch; the plate is recessed for the frame, has a transverse ridge next to slot for the now missing pin, an integral rivet in the plate. A incomplete copper-alloy Medieval buckle. The frame is broadly square in shape with an incomplete foldedrectangular composite plate, which breaks around the narrowed bar leaving only one part of the plate. The frame has slightly convex sides, with a ridge near each corner; thick outside edge has three filed grooves, bar offset and narrowed; plate is recessed for frame ad has slot for missing pin and holes for a single missing rivet. An incomplete copper-alloy Medieval buckle. The frame is circular in form, with an integral plate, which tapers towards an old break. The frame protrudes on each side before the plate. The plate retains the pin, and has a circular hole for a, now missing, rivet and terminates at the remains of another circular hole at the break. There is gilding evident, in a design of a central line, and 45 degree diagonal lines on each side of the central line. A similar example can be seen in Egan and Pritchard, 2011, pg 78, fig 48, 320-231.  Length: 32.17mm Width: 14.60mm Weight: 3.70g
