Object type: STRAINER
Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL
County: Lincolnshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
White metal strainer fragment. A scrap of thin sheet metal with a curving edge along its longest side, torn elsewhere, bearing five concentric rings of tiny [diameter 0.4mm] holes. This might be from a strainer for wine or tea, and is quite possibly another example of Victorian silver, a material which often found its way onto the fields despite the intrinsic value of the metal. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1800-1900 Length: 23.4mm, Width: 13.2mm, Thickness: 0.5mm, Weight: 0.24gms

Object type: PENDANT
Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL
County: Norfolk
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Lead alloy, leaf-shaped, possible pendant. Crafted from a sub-triangular 1.7mm thick sheet of lead-alloy contoured on its lower edge into leaf serrations matched by corresponding veins engraved on the surface. The apex of the upper body is pierced by an oval hole presumably for suspension. The reverse is undecorated. Locally made, it lacks features that are diagnostic in terms of date, but given its white-metal construction, and therefore original appearance, it perhaps mimics more elaborate silver examples such as SF-77C9E5 and LIN-59D105 which date to the late Medieval to early Post…

Object type: BRACELET
Broad period: MODERN
County: Cumbria

Modern white metal and layered chalcedony hinged bracelet. No assay marks so probably white metal rather than silver. The overall form is typical of Art Deco, or Deco influenced, with some more traditional decorative elements. The bezel is set with a brown to white layered chalcedony, probably either a banded onyx or agate. The overall effect is of an eye within a border. The 'iris' of the 'eye' appears to be set with nacre or Mother Of Pearl. The shoulders of the band are decorated with floral scrolls within an enclosed beaded border. This border runs along the bracelets edges for it…
