An incomplete copper-alloy strap fitting of Roman date, c.AD 100 - 300. The object comprises a circular plate with a convex upper surface and flat reverse resulting in a D-shaped section. The front of the plate is decorated with a recessed ring around a raised central dome. Twelve (12) sub-rectangular recessed cells encircle the ring. Half of the cells retain red enamel. The rest are empty. Full and empty cells alternate. The edges of the fitting are fluted. A rectangular, D-sectioned attachment loop is present to the reverse of the fitting. An incomplete copper-alloy sword belt strap fitting of Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1500 - 1600. The fitting comprises an asymmetrical plate with foliate and floriate decoration to the upper surface. The narrower end of the plate tapers to a narrow rectangular projection, likely representing the remains of an attachment hook. Two rivet holes are present on the plate; one to the centre of the trefoil terminal retains iron corrosion, the other just above the broken hook. An incomplete copper-alloy strap fitting or strap slide of late Iron Age to Roman date, c.50 BC - AD 200. The fitting comprises an openwork, pointed ovate frame with integral semicircular loop to the reverse. The frame has pointed terminals at the tips of the oval with a ridge running between them. At the centre of the frame is a circular openwork area. The loop on the reverse has a D-shaped section and projects from the wider sides of the pointed oval. An incomplete copper-alloy military belt plate of Roman date, c.AD. 150 – 300. The object comprises two ovate panels joined by a narrowed integral D-shape sectioned shaft. A similar shaft extends from the opposite edge of each panel, one terminating is a transverse ridge, the other in a worn break. The panels have raised edges creating recessed cells which retain blue enamel. The reverse is flat and undecorated. The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The object consists of a front plate comprising two globular hemispherical terminals joined by a waisted central rectangular panel, and a loop. The main plate is asymmetrical and curvilinear, tapering from a wide flared trilobed terminal to a narrower bifid terminal from which a circular sectioned forward-facing hook extends.
