An early-medieval gold tremissis (pale shilling) of Two Emperors type dating c. 650-70. (BMC type 1; Sutherland type II.v; North 20, Metacalf 80?)
Obverse: Bust right wearing a pearled diadem and cuirass indicated by dots, pseudo-legend consisting of a large A and v behind head with an N(?) in front. Between them a cross on a flat base. Reverse: Two half figures, seated on throne, stylized Victory/angel above, wings outstretched, groups of three pellets either side of Victory's head.
Measurements: 13.34mm in diameter and 1.27g in weight.

A chipped early-medieval pale gold shilling (aka thrymsa) of Two Emperors type (BMC type 1; Sutherland type II.v; North 20) dating c. 650-70. Refs: Sutherland 1948; North 1994; Gannon 2013: 94-5.
The coin survives in two fragment, one a small portion of the outer edge above the top of the bust (obverse). This coin is otherwise in very good condition. Very pale gold, almost silver in colour.

An early-medieval gold shilling (also known as a 'thrymsa') of the Witmen Group, possibly 'Witmen prototype' or 'Witmen derived 1' dating to c. 620-45. Ref: Naismith 2017: 52; Gannon 2013: no 11; cf. Metcalf 1993: 57-9, nos 1-2.
Obverse: No legend. Bust right draped and wearing diadem with two ties; in front a trident.
Reverse: VVITMENMONITA (or devolved version thereof). Cross with three limbs bifurcated and lower limb terminating in small semi-circle, within dotted circle.
The coin is 12mm in diameter and weighs 1.28g.

A slightly chipped early-medieval gold tremissis of an anonymous 7th century ruler, dating to the period c.AD 640-660. Two emperors type probably dating, North (1994) No. 20, Metcalf no. 79-80.
Obverse: Bust right wearing a pearled diadem and cuirass indicated by dots, legend mostly unclear or nonsense followed possiby by TIE. Reverse: No legend. Stylized figure of Victory enfolding the heads of two small busts. Very pale gold, almost silver in colour. This coin is in very good condition.
Measurments: 12.48mm in diameter, 1.43mm thick and 1.26g in weight.
