A gold sovereign of George III, AD 1760-1820. Minted in AD 1817. This coin is part of the coinage referred to as the last or new coinage that was minted between AD 1816-1820. The obverse shows a laureate head right. Obverse legend reads: GEORGIUS III D:G:BRITANNIAR:REX F:D: The exergue reads: 1817.
