Object is a complete copper alloy seal matrix of Medieval date (approx 1200-1400). The seal matrix is circular in shape. The obverse features a central motif of a bird holding a branch? head facing its wing (possibly a dove or an eagle) set within a beaded border. The legend around the circumference reads X SIGILLVM AMORIS meaning Seal of Love. The reverse is undecorated, is flat save for a slight central, vertical ridge which results in a complete suspension loop. A complete forged copper alloy spiral finger ring of probable Iron Age to Roman date (c. 200BC-AD 410). The ring is of Guiraud Type 7 (Guiraud 1989, 195-6). The ring is made from a forged bar of copper alloy 4.3- 4.8mm diameter wrapped around to form a ring, completing two full turns. The section of the bar is circular. The internal diameter of the ring is variable with a maximum of 22.1mm. The frame is decorated with continuous transverse incised bands or ridges on the front surface, some of which are inlaid with a darker material, possibly niello. An incomplete cast copper alloy pinhead of probable Roman date (c.AD 43-410). The pin is comprised of the head and a fragment of the shaft (overall height 13.0mm). The head is globular, flat on the bottom, with four intersecting incised grooves forming a flower or star decoration (external diameter 6.7mm, height 3.2mm). The shank is circular in section (diameter 3.0mm, 9.2mm long) and terminates in a transverse break.  The object has a dark green patina and weighs 1.24g. A near-complete, distorted copper alloy Colchester Derivative Polden Hill (CD PH) type brooch of Roman date (c. 75-175AD). The brooch belongs to Mackreth’s CD PH Type 5.b3. An incomplete distorted copper alloy needle of uncertain date, likely Medieval to Post Medieval. The needle is missing the upper half of its head, which is broken across the eye. Introduction (AG & CG) A Late Bronze Age hoard of seven bronze artefacts (eleven fragments), was discovered by Mr Mark Herman on 8th September 2019 while metal-detecting on a field under arable in Pendoylan Community, Vale of Glamorgan. Ten of the fragments (Nos. 2-11) were found together in a single localized cluster, located a maximum distance of 1.2m (4 feet) from each other.
