The outer surface is cast with a repeating pattern of hearts chased for translucent red enamel between smaller circular elements similarly chased for opaque white enamel ('pearls') and translucent green enamel. Post medieval copper alloy hooked belt mount of 17th century date The belt mount is incomplete, missing the hooked end (with a surviving length of 41.9mm, a surviving depth of 7.8mm and a weight of 6.0g). The mount has a trefoil apex and was attached using two rivets, secured through two holes, countersank at the rear. The front was decorated with an intricate floral-vine motif but now corroded. The damaged hook appears is now bent towards the rear. The surface is corroded and has a green to black patina.
