An unidentified lead alloy object, probably a weight dating to the late medieval or early post medieval period (c.AD1400-1750. The object is a quarter of an elipsoid (Quarter of an elongated sphere) giving it a shield shaped plan. One radius is slightly longer (13.4mm) than the other (8.8mm). There is a design on the curved surface formed by a series of raised ridges. There is a central raised ridge from which four pairs of ribs radiate and connect with an outer shield motif. An incomplete unusual lead alloy flat pointed oval 'vessica' seal matrix of the medieval period, probably 14th century.  This is a flat seal matrix, shaped as a pointed oval.  It is 34.5mm long, 23.1mm wide, 4.3mm thick (excluding the loop) and weighs 13.2g.  The surfaces are a mid-brown colour with a buff-coloured patina, particularly on the reverse and in the recesses of the die.  The reverse has the remains of a broken loop, or pierced lug, oriented vertically and located centrally at the upper point of the oval.  There is a raised border around th…

An incomplete copper alloy button and loop toggle fastener from the late Iron Age to early Roman period (C. BC 150-AD 100). A fragment from the blade of a copper alloy Bronze Age palstave axehead dating from the Middle Bronze Age (c.1600-1150 cal BC). This is the blade end of a bronze age axehead.  It is solid and of sub-rectangular cross-section, having two short curved and two long curved sides.  The fragment tapers to the edged blade, which is slightly recurved. While it has been possible to identify the fragment as part of a blade from a palstave axehead, due to the missing portions it is difficult to conclusively identify the type . Palstaves broadly date to the Middle Bronze Age …
