An early medieval Series D type 2c sub variety 3d early silver penny (sceat or sceatta) dating to between 690-710 AD. As Metcalf 1993: 184-190 or Abramson 2017: 65, 8-10. The obverse has a radiate crowned bust facing right with transverse A behind. The reverse has a central cross with a pellet in each angle surrounded by blundered letters. This type is thought to be a continental issue, likely minted at Domburg. A silver early Medieval early penny (sceat), Series H (secondary) Type 49: Metcalf 1, Wodan / Peacock, dating to AD 720-745. Obverse: round moustached Woden face centrally with beaded outline surrounded by ten bosses comprising pellets in annulets.
