Lead spindle whorl. Cast plano-convex whorl with a tapered moulded aperture of diameter 9.5-10mm, Walton Rogers form A1; heavily patinated and abraded. The spindle hole size would admit an Anglo-Scandinavian date while its mass would permit this to be used to spin a yarn. Early Early-Medieval (late 5th to 6th centuries) saucer brooch made from gilded copper alloy. It is sub-circular and has abraded and incomplete edges. There is an incomplete lipped edge which is obliquely angled outwards. The front of the brooch is decorated with high-relief Style I animal motifs that are degenerate and are spiralling around a central undecorated boss. A fragment of a copper alloy zoomorphic Anglo Saxon buckle probably dating to c. AD 850-1000. The buckle was probably D-shaped in plan and single looped. The frame is 4.9mm thick, 5.9mm wide and is trapezoidal in cross section, with the front face having two facets and probably represents that of a serpent. The bar is sub circular in cross section with a thickness of 4.3mm x 3.9mm Similar examples can be seen in records WMID1681 and SOM-F293A6 Length: 26.5mm Height: 19.8mm Weight: 5.08gms

An incomplete copper alloy Strap End of Early Medieval date (AD 750- 950). The strap end is a Thomas Class A, Type 2. The object sub-ovate in form and narrows slightly to a rounded square end. It has a split attachment end, with two circular perforations with the perforations in the back portion being broken and abraded. a minor amount of rivet is retained within the front left perforation. An incomplete copper alloy possible awl of uncertain date, possibly dating to the Late Bronze Age - Medieval period, 1150 BC - AD 1100. The object is a single cast chisel with a flat bladed terminal that widens towards the middle of the piece before tapering down to a point which is now worn and broken. There is no decoration on the object and it has an dark red brown patina. Small chisels and tools of this type were used for an extensive period of time, not simply in the Bronze age, but also in later periods for jewellery making and fine work.
