A complete silver cut long cross halfpenny of Henry III (1216-1272). Oxford mint; moneyer's name not included on the cut coin. Class 3 (1248-1250) (North ref N986-988/1). Probably Class 3bc (North ref N987/1) due to the pellet after REX and the trace of a neck. However, there appear to be four larger outer pellets on the beard. North states that coins of this class "normally" have three larger outer pellets attached to the large central pellet (see North ref N987/1 p 226).
