A bifacially worked Neolithic lanceolate point or implement made from a pink-brown coarse-grained quartzite. The tool is 74.3mm in length and oval in shape, with a lenticular cross section. The faceting on both faces is suggestive of hard-hammered working.

A small and incomplete whetstone made from an imported micaceous schist and of suspected early medieval to medieval date. The whetstone was originally rectangular and narrow, with a sub rectangular cross section. Only one end now survives, this has a rounded terminal drilled with a large suspension hole. The main body of the object has been thinned to breakage by heavy use from one side.

A small fragment of a smashed stone object made from a fine-grained micaceous metamorphic rock (which is not of local origin to the findspot). One face is smooth and clearly well finished. It has incised lines forming a zig-zag pattern, which may be partial angular letter forms in Roman captials with thin stems and small serifs. A Roman stone die dating from AD 50-410. The die is cuboid and each value is marked by a ring and dot design, which range from 1 to 6. Opposite sides add up to 7. The die has a polished surface with faint vertical groves on each face. This die is Potter variant 14 (Finds Research Group 700-1700, Datasheet 23, Dice by Geoff Egan). Dimensions: length: 8.33mm; width: 8.11mm; thickness: 7.04mm; weight: 1.19g Similar dice are illustrated in Crummy (1983, 96-97) which date to the Roman period.

A complete polished hardstone axehead of Neolithic date. The axehead is 123.6mm in length and 61.3mm wide, with a lenticular side profile and an oval cross section 37mm thick. The butt is rounded and the sides flare slightly towards the blade end before narrowing into the curved cutting edge. One face demonstrates damage from weathering, whilst the other side remains smooth with visible striations from polishing. An Incomplete Post Medieval stone token mould for casting four identical tokens bearing the letter G. This is part of one half of a mould for making lead alloy tokens, there is a central funnel to carry the molten metal down into the moulds. The stone would have been trapezoidal in shape with two holes drilled into it either side of the central funnel to allow it to be pegged to the other half of the mould, only one peg hole remains which retains its lead alloy peg. A polished dark green doleritic axehead, sub-triangular in plan with a pointed butt end and a straight cutting edge, and lentoid in profile and ovate in section. The axehead measures 161 mm in length, 62 mm in width at the cutting edge, and 39 mm in thickness, and weighs 527.7 g. A fragment of a Medieval stone lamp mortar produced late 13th - early 14th century but would have continued in use for much longer. This fragment comprises one lug and part of the rim from the lamp. The upper section of the lug has a square cross-section that tapers down its length. This rounded section extends around the mortar forming a collar that is carved with repeated vertical ridge and grooves. A roughly spherical bead made from what appear to be natural chalk fossils, perhaps similar to coral. The bead has a roughly centrally drilled hole. Similar beads from the same site are SUR-D40483. Dimensions: diameter: 17.80mm; height: 15.88mm; weight: 5.61g In view of the proximity of an early medieval burial these may well be of Saxon origin. They were found scattered separately across a field.

An incomplete, fine-grained sandstone whetstone of unknown date. Description: The whetstone is incomplete roughly surviving at 50% of original length, it is ovoid in section and was likely a long thin pointed oval in plan although one pointed end is missing. The remaining point is round and blunt and the broken edge is fairly worn. each wide flat surface has been heavily worn with use leaving the whetstone much thinner towards the middle of the whetstone. A complete stone Late Medieval or Post Medieval cannon ball dating between AD 1450-1750. Te diameter is 1.901 inches which makes it the correct size for a Falconet cannon. Falconets were invented in the late 15th century and were used throughout the 16th and 17th centuries. Other stone cannon balls on the database are LON-8C8719, SWYOR-09F4A2 and LON-E4B976. An incomplete Roman quern-stone made from Mayen lava dating from AD50-410. The fragment represents approximately half the original quern. This is an unusually small quern and would have been for domestic use. Only one surface is finished and that is the grinding surface, it has been worked to form grooves that radiate out from the center hole. Dimensions: length: 22.2mm; thickness: 63.85mm; weight: 2565g.
