A postmedieval, openwork belt mount of cast silver. It is rectangular in shape, with four loops and a central lozenge for foliate ornament. This openwork ornament was designed in order to show off the leather or textile belt beneath. There are 2 studs for attachment on reverse, and the backplate is filed. Late 15th-early 16th century. Consequently, in terms of age and as the object contains a minimum of 10% precious metal it qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.

Silver ring, possibly a finger ring. The band is wide, undecorated and has an inward facing D-shaped cross section. The fact that the ring has a convex internal surface suggests that it may not be a finger ring. Undiagnostic Description: silver band, probably a fitting, with undecorated surface. The interior of the fitting is convex, indicating that this is indeed a fitting rather than a finger-ring. Discussion: There are no diagnostic features to the fitting, therefore it is not possible to conclusively date the fitting.

The mount is complete and was attached by two perforated and rounded side lugs (6.0mm long, 6.6mm wide and 1.8mm thick), and secured by separate rivets through carefully drilled holes (2.2mm diameter). The mount is three-dimensional, of rounded conical form and with a hollow interior. The sides of the cone are slightly convex. At the apex is an openwork cross and elsewhere the mount is decorated with incised chevrons, some of which are cut deeply into the mount. Incomplete cast silver unidentified object, a mount in the form of an elaborate fleur-de-lis, broken near the base across an attachment hole. The reverse is flat. It is uncertain to what object this would have been attached. If the complete mount consisted of one fleur then the attachment, so near the base, would not have been very secure. The object probably dates to the 15th century.

A silver shield-shaped stud or mount in good condition. The obverse is entirely taken up by a complicated coat of arms. No enamel remains, but some patches of gilding survive. The arms are quartered, with a ‘label’. The top right and bottom left quarters are three lions passant gardant. Top left and bottom right are three fleur-de-lis arranged in a tight ‘heart shape’. The label has three vertical elements, each with three roundels/dots. I. Szymanksi has provisionally identified this as the arms of two men called Edmund of Langley. This artefact dates to the 14th century.
